GOODLETTSVILLE, TN — An emaciated stray mare pony found wandering on Brick Church Pike last week is recovering at a horse sanctuary as animal control officials search for her owner.
A Goodlettsville landowner called Metro Animal Care and Control July 9 after finding the 20-year-old flaxen chestnut pony running on their property. MACC eventually took the pony, who was severely thin, to Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary, which operates more than two dozen foster farms in Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
The pony has a difficult and lengthy recovery ahead, officials say.
MACC officials would like to track down the pony’s owner. Anyone with information should call 615-862-7928.
